Industry veteran Kathy A. Newby, CERP has started a new position with AFR Special Event Furniture Rental as Account Executive for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Desiree Kelly, MBA, CPCE, of The Makery Cake Co has been elected Greater Denver NACE Chapter President for the 2022-2023 term.
Kevin Dennis of WeddingIQ is excited to announce that he will be an upcoming speaker in the 2022 TSE + Catersource Conference, located in Anaheim, CA from May 2-5. He will be presenting for the TSE track on the topic, Taking Advantage of Tech: Downloading the Update Your Event Company Needs.
Leah Weinberg of Color Pop Events is included in a roundup of experts in Special Events and Catersource’s article, ‘A Look at Very Peri: Industry Pros React to Pantone’s 2022 Color of the Year.’ Leah also makes an appearance in Rent My Wedding’s Winter 2021 Issue and contributes to ‘7 Tips for Creating a Wedding Day Timeline That Works’ on Woman Getting Married. She has been announced as a 2022 speaker for The Special Event, and Signature CEO.
Christie Osborne of Mountainside Media discusses ‘Analytics + Instinct’ on The Flourishing Entrepreneur Podcast and is featured in Catersource’s ‘25 Positive Predictions for 2022, Part 1.’ She has also been announced as a 2022 speaker for both TSE + Catersource in Anaheim, May 2-5, as well as Signature CEO in March.
Jennifer Taylor of Jen Taylor Consulting gives insight on ‘Why You Should Consider an Internship Program in 2022’ on Nace. She is also the confirmed February speaker for Seattle NACE, as well as The Special Event.
Margaux Fraise of Harmony Creative Studio sits down and chats with The Union Podcast on ‘Resilience & Growth As An Entrepreneur.’ She is also confirmed to present Decoding Client Inquiries at The Special Event in May, and is a featured speaker at Lend + Gather.
Elizabeth Sheils of Rock Paper Coin reveals on WeddingIQ ‘How To Bring Your Lofty Business Dreams To Life In 2022.’ She also shares the ‘4 Key Business Lessons from 2021 to Prepare for a Successful Year Ahead’ on Timeline Genius and dives into how to turn your dreams into reality on The Confetti Hour Podcast. She is also confirmed as a 2022 speaker for The Special Event.
Having just wrapped up as one of the NACE Evolve keynotes, Renée Dalo of Moxie Bright Events is confirmed to speak at the 2022 TSE + Catersource conference. She will also be the April speaker for NACE Wisconsin.

This partnership is a wonderful example of how businesses support one another while creating unique gifts for the wedding industry.
The speakers for Catersource/The Special Event in May 2-5, 2022, in Anaheim have been announced. Pauline Parry, founder of Good Gracious! Events in Los Angeles, will be speaking on what it takes to write a book. Called “So You Want to Write a Book?” her session will give insights into how to write and publish a book. Parry will be joined by Jennie Cooks, a fellow caterer and author. At the show, copies of Parry’s new book, My Culinary Love Story, and the reprint of her first book, Food, Fun and Love: Party Styles, will be available. Michelle Loretta of Be Sage Consulting will be sharing her expertise on Developing a CFO Mindset at Lend & Gather Conference this March 1-2 in Miami, Florida.
Chef Marty & Dawn Deardorf of Aurora Catering are excited to speak to Chef Amanda Rose’s class about getting involved in the catering business. Chef Rose is the culinary sciences teacher for the Eden Area ROP. and in March is teaching Southern & Cajun Cooking. Chef Marty as a guest chef will demonstrate via Zoom how to make Gumbo! Aurora Catering featured Gumbo, Mac & Cheese, Cornbread, Red Beans & Rice, Collard Greens, and Beignets for New Year’s and will be repeating the menu to celebrate Mardi Gras on March 1. Ms. Deardorf will be available to answer any business questions the students may have. Chef Marty and Dawn are thrilled to keep students excited about the food industry!
